Каталiзатор – хiмiчна речовина, що прискорюе реакцiю, але не витрачаеться в процесi реакцii. У нафтопереробнiй промисловостi каталiзатори використовуються для переробки нафтовоi продукцii.

A catcher, slug catcher is a static equipment in the form of a vessel or piping network. Slug Catcher is the name of a unit in which slugs at the outlet of pipelines are collected or caught.

Уловлювач шлакiв – це назва установки, в якiй збираються або уловлюються шлаки на виходi з трубопроводiв; являе собою стацiонарне обладнання у виглядi судини або мережi трубопроводiв.

The catwalk is an extended, rectangular platform about 3 ft [0.9 m] high, usually made of steel and perpendicular to the vee-door at the bottom of the slide. This platform is used as a staging area for the rig and drillstring tools, components that are about to be picked up and run, or components that have been run and are being laid down.

Centipoise is a unit of measurement for viscosity equivalent to one-hundredth of poise, symbolized by cP. Viscosity is the ratio of shear stress to shear rate, giving the traditional unit of dyn-s/cm2 for Poise. In metric (SI) units, one cP is one millipascal-second (mPa).

Centrifugal compressors, sometimes called impeller or radial compressors, are a sub-class of dynamic axisymmetric work-absorbing turbomachinery. Centrifugal compressors elevate gas pressure by adding kinetic energy/velocity to the gas as it flows through an impeller.

A centrifugal pump is a type of pump commonly used in handling and mixing oilfield fluids. The flow from centrifugal pumps can be controlled easily, even allowing flow to be completely closed off using valves on the pump discharge manifold while the pump runs. This pump is sometimes known as a "C pump."

Chemical injection is a general term for injection processes that use special chemical solutions to improve oil recovery, remove formation damage, clean blocked perforations or formation layers, reduce or inhibit corrosion, upgrade crude oil, or address oil flow-assurance issues. The injection can be administered continuously, in batches, in injection wells, or at times in production wells.

Закачування хiмреагентiв – це загальний термiн для процесiв нагнiтання спецiальних хiмiчних розчинiв в свердловини для пiдвищення нафтовiддачi та iнших робiт. Закачування можна здiйснювати безперервно або партiями, в нагнiтальнi свердловини або час вiд часу в видобувнi свердловини.

Chemical scavenging equipment is used for treating chemicals. Chemicals are added to drilling mud or other fluids to react with contaminants to change the contaminant to a less harmful compound. Chemical scavenging systems require chemical storage facilities, mix tanks, and injection pumps.

A choke is a device incorporating an orifice that controls fluid flow rate or downstream system pressure. Chokes are available in several configurations for both fixed and adjustable modes of operation. Adjustable chokes enable the fluid flow and pressure parameters to be changed to suit process or production requirements. Fixed chokes do not provide this flexibility, although they are more resistant to erosion under prolonged operation or production of abrasive fluids.

The choke line includes a high-pressure pipe leading from an outlet on the BOP stack to the backpressure choke and associated manifold. During well-controlled operations, the fluid under pressure in the wellbore flows out of the well through the choke line to the choke, reducing the fluid pressure to atmospheric pressure. In floating offshore operations, the choke and kill lines exit the subsea BOP stack and run outside the drilling riser to the surface.

A choke manifold is a set of high-pressure valves and associated piping that usually includes at least two adjustable chokes arranged so that one can be isolated and taken out of service for repair and refurbishment. At the same time, the well flow is directed through the other one. A manifold assembly incorporating chokes, valves, and pressure sensors is used to control flowback or treatment fluids.

A Christmas tree is a set of valves, spools, and fittings connected to the top of a well to direct and control the flow of formation fluids from the well. Christmas trees are available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, such as low—or high-pressure capacity and single—or multiple-completion capacity.

Chromatography is a sample analysis technique used to separate and identify volatile compounds in liquid mixtures and gases. It comprises an injection system to add the sample, a chromatography column to allow the components to separate, and a detector to sense when a component is exiting the system.

Хроматографiя – це метод подiлу та аналiзу сумiшей речовин, а також вивчення фiзико-хiмiчних властивостей речовин. За допомогою хроматографiчного методу, наприклад, можна виявити в нафтi наявнiсть летких хлорорганiчних сполук або вмiст меркаптанiв, сiрководню.

Circulate is used to pump fluid through the whole active fluid system, including the borehole and all the surface tanks that constitute the primary system.

Circulation loss is the loss of drilling fluid to a formation. It is usually caused when the hydrostatic head pressure of the drilling fluid column exceeds the formation pressure.
