“I didn’t know you were home.

“I could have kept Poppy up long enough for you to see her,” Tessa said.

“I just got here. I’m sure she was too tired to stay up any longer.”

“Would you like a cup?” Tessa asked.

“Of tea?” she added, holding up a mug.
